Para la recolección&nbsp;de la información, se utilizó la encuesta diferencial semántica de Osgood. Los&nbsp;jóvenes encuestados presentan un rango de edad entre 18 y 30 años y&nbsp;estudian las licenciaturas de contaduría, administración y economía, en sexto,&nbsp;noveno y octavo semestre, respectivamente. Los resultados obtenidos&nbsp;mostraron que los jóvenes tienen una percepción favorable sobre los deportes extremos. En concreto, al 84% le gustaría practicarlo y aun cuando el 72% los considera peligrosos, también el 77% los encuentra placenteros. Además, el 54% piensa que la práctica de estos deportes produce tranquilidad, mientras que solo el 33% opina que pueden ser fuente de estrés. La conclusión es que la persona que practica un deporte extremo también lo hace por su libre albedrío; por su voluntad, pone en juego sus capacidades, sus habilidades y competencias físicas y psíquicas. Así que, en materia de deportes extremos, parece que aún no se ha dicho todo.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>ABSTRACT<br>This article is the result of a research project which aimed to indentify the&nbsp;perception of university students towards extreme sports as a source of stress&nbsp;or well-being. A quantitative method was applied in a descriptive cross-sectional&nbsp;study; and the Osgood Semantic Differential survey was used for data&nbsp;collection. The students surveyed had an age range between 18 and 30; they&nbsp;study graduate accounting, management and economics in their sixth, eighth&nbsp;and ninth semesters respectively. The results showed that these young&nbsp;students have a positive perception on extreme sports. 84% of university&nbsp;students would like to do this kind of sport and even though 72% believe that&nbsp;extreme sports are dangerous, while 77% think that they are pleasant.&nbsp;Moreover, 54% of the students think that the practice of this sport gives them&nbsp;peace, whileonly 33% believe thatitcanbe a stressful experience. It was&nbsp;concluded that people do extreme sports of their own free will, testing their&nbsp;abilities, as well as physical and mental skills; therefore, in regards to this issue,&nbsp;there is still much to be said.</p> ER -
