Resumen

Objetivo: la finalidad del presente estudio fue caracterizar los perfiles de educación financiera en Colombia a fin de conocer el desempeño financiero de los hogares. Método: para la investigación se aplicó las técnicas de análisis estadístico multivariado de análisis de conglomerados y discriminante, a resultados de encuesta de carga y educación financiera de los hogares año 2018, en una muestra aleatoria de 1000 individuos, realizada por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (DANE) en Colombia. Resultados: los hallazgos encontrados muestran cuatro grupos característicos de educación financiera y la capacidad discriminante en el 94,1% de casos agrupados clasificados correctamente. Discusión: si bien el estudio muestra claras tendencias de conocimiento y comportamiento financiero de los grupos de los hogares analizados, se debe ampliar el estudio aplicando otras herramientas multivariadas de predicción del comportamiento financiero de los hogares. Conclusión: en la población de casados, la mayoría de los hombres suelen tener un mayor conocimiento financiero, pero mal manejo de las finanzas personales, a diferencia de las mujeres en esta condición que en general muestran tener mejor conducta y educación financiera.
