Complaints and claims policy

The journal aims to respond to and resolve all complaints and claims quickly and constructively. The editors have the power to decide which articles will be published in Educación y Humanismo.

When a complaint or claim is filed, based on its nature and complexity, the case will be assessed by the editors, the Editorial Board, and the staff of the Publications Department of the Universidad Simón Bolívar (Colombia). Decisions will be made considering the recommendations made by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

To send a complaint or suggestion to this journal, messages should be sent directly to the Educación y Humanismo e-mail (reveduhumanismo@unisimonbolivar.edu.co) and include the following in the subject: COMPLAINT or CLAIM. All messages will be addressed within 30 business days. However, depending on the level of complexity of the complaint, the complainant will be informed if more time is required to conclude the investigation of the case.

The complaint or claim must be clear, specific, and contain sufficient data to demonstrate a possible breach of the journal’s declaration of editorial ethics. As much additional documentation as possible must be attached as proof or evidence of the situation claimed.

Claims that are outside the scope of the journal, such as personal complaints against authors, editors, reviewers, or the journal’s editorial team, will receive a response indicating the reasons why the complaint is not considered to be within the journal’s competence. In addition, the journal will refrain from conducting the corresponding investigations when complaints or claims are presented in an offensive, threatening, or defamatory manner.
