Efectos Físicos y Psicológicos de Mindfulness y Compasión en Tiempos de Covid 19
The Physical and Psychological Effects of Mindfulness and Compassion in Times of Covid 19

Objetivo: Determinar entre mindfulness y compasión en formato virtual-Intensivo (8 sesiones), cuál mejora los niveles de bienestar psicológico y reduce el estrés en situación de pandemia.
Método: Estudio cuasiexperimental. Grupos de intervención: mindfulness (n=24) y compasión (n=22), y un grupo control pasivo con lista de espera (n=24). Tras un mes de entrenamiento virtual se evaluó pre y post intervención con la escala de estrés percibido de Cohen, cortisol piloso y escala de bienestar psico-lógico de Ryff. Además de cinco preguntas abiertas a modo de control sobre la percepción de los efectos del entrenamiento.
Resultados: Ambos grupos obtuvieron datos significativos en la reducción de estrés percibido respecto al grupo control, mientras que en cortisol piloso no se mostraron cambios significativos. Sin embargo, se conservaron los valores de cortisol piloso dentro de los parámetros normales, observándose la potencialidad de estas intervenciones en formatos breves e intensivos como factores protectores en pandemia. En bienestar psicológico no se observaron datos significativos tras un mes de entrenamiento. Los datos cualitativos -entrevista- post intervención apoyan la noción de efectos similares en ambos grupos en distintas áreas de percepción de cambios en dirección hacia el bienestar eudaimónico.
Conclusiones: A pesar de que no se prueban las hipótesis, sí se apoya la eficacia de las intervenciones en mindfulness y compasión para la disminución del estrés psicológico en tiempos de pandemia. Se sugieren futuras investigaciones que especifiquen sobre los efectos, dosis/respuesta y mecanismos subyacentes en estrés biológico con entrenamientos superiores a un mes en formato virtual.
