Resumen

Objetivo: Este estudio tuvo como objetivo mapear la evidencia científica disponible sobre el consumo de alcohol por parte de los estudiantes universitarios brasileños.

Método: Fueron consultadas las bases de datos Medline, LILACS, PsycInfo y Scielo, utilizando los descriptores “estudiante universitario” (singular y plural), “uso de alcohol”, “consumo de alcohol” y “Brasil”, en portugués e inglés, utilizando los booleanos AND y OR. Los criterios de inclusión fueron: artículos publicados en revistas revisadas por pares; disponibles en su totalidad; publicados entre el 1 de enero de 2013 y marzo de 2023; con estudios empíricos sobre el consumo de alcohol entre estudiantes universitarios.

Resultados: Se encontraron 532 artículos, de los que 44 cumplían los criterios de inclusión. Se analizaron los artículos elegibles, lo que dio lugar a cuatro categorías temáticas: Prevalencia y patrón de consumo de alcohol, que apunta a la frecuencia del consumo de alcohol y los niveles de consumo; factores relacionados con el consumo de alcohol, que describe un conjunto de variables biopsicosociales asociadas al consumo de alcohol; problemas de consumo de alcohol, que examina las consecuencias negativas resultantes de la ingesta de alcohol; propuestas de intervención, que apuntan a estrategias para reducir el abuso de alcohol.

Conclusión: Esta revisión del alcance proporcionó una visión general de la investigación empírica brasileña sobre el tema en cuestión, las lagunas actuales y las posibilidades de progreso.
