1. If an author strongly believes that an inappropriate decision was taken about his or her own decision, Ciencia e Innovación en Salud allows for a single appeal.
  2. Appeals should be presented together with a detailed explanation of why the original decision was mistaken.
  3. First, we will address the original academic editor and determine if they are willing to change their opinion in light of such feedback. If they are not, a second academic editor (or, in some cases, an Academic Editors Committee) will be requested to make a decision. In some cases, this step may require re-reviewing of the article.
  4. The new decision is considered as the final decision.
  5. Authors should be aware that appeals usually take some time before they are solved.
